Crowne Plaza Belfast by IHG

The hotel has a lot to offer, including a pool, gym, salon and spa, and the reception staff were welcoming and helpful. We booked just a day ahead and stayed from June 4-5. They kindly let us check in early at 11:00 AM, which we appreciated, but our family was given only one room key card, making it hard to come and go separately. I had an uncomfortable experience at the pool with my 8-year-old son. I took a few photos from away from the pool to show my husband, who was resting in the room, where we were. A swimming coach giving lessons shouted “No phones!” at me abruptly, which felt rude and embarrassing. Some of the children repeated it, making things worse. I understand there may be a phone policy, but I would have appreciated a polite explanation as a guest. I also didn’t see any signs or instructions about phone use in the facility. Our room stayed very warm, and the air conditioning didn’t seem to work well enough to cool it down. The hotel is a little outside the city centre, though it’s a short drive if you have a car. We hoped to use the spa, but it closes at 10:00 PM, so we didn’t get the chance. The amenities are good and reception staff are friendly, but some parts of the guest experience could be better.

I had a good week here. There are only three charging points: two at 7 kW and one high-power charger. Since charging is overnight, that should be enough. I had trouble charging only once during the week. Booking ahead is better for the restaurant. I didn’t try the spa or other facilities.

The corridors felt cold, and it took a while for our room to warm up. Aside from that, we loved our bank holiday weekend stay. The hotel was clean and offered daily room refreshes, the staff were fabulously friendly and accommodating, and the massage was fabulous. Thanks so much for having us!

The room was peaceful, the bed very comfortable, and Chloe, the housekeeper, made sure I had everything I needed. The room was so clean, and she was really nice with guests, a hard worker, and great fun to chat with. Emma in the Leisure Club was kind too. It was great to find a good leisure club here, especially when all the swimming pools and leisure clubs in England have closed due to energy pricing. As a Diamond Member who’s stayed at many Crowne Plaza Hotels around the world, I was especially impressed by this morning’s breakfast team. Ash, Andrea, Gita, Adele and the Chef team all stood out. My eggs Benedict were a culinary delight. The whole team were friendly, and Ash in particular had kind gentlemanly manners, built excellent rapport with guests and took initiative. He was helping everyone, which was lovely to see. I spoke with some of the team in perfect Indian and Romanian, and it brought a delighted smile to their faces. This is why I moved from Marriott to IHG. Thank you. Five stars. Diamond IHG
