Breakfast was delicious, and the poached eggs were the best I've ever had. There's a good range on the menu, with everything locally sourced. I hadn't mentioned my lactose intolerance in advance, but they had lactose-free milk available, which impressed me. Julie and Phillipa made me feel very welcome at their charming B&B and were helpful with suggestions for nearby places to eat. It's in a convenient, easy-to-find spot in the lovely countryside around Pickering. My room had a tastefully decorated, modern country feel and was spotlessly clean, and I slept exceptionally well. I'd definitely recommend The Old Forge for its lovely accommodation, charming hosts, and great value.

We stayed for three nights with the whole family, and it was the best holiday experience we've had. Our four-year-old didn't want to leave when it was time to go. The two lovely ladies running the place worked hard to make us feel welcome, and we felt at home every minute. The rooms were clean and cosy, with very comfortable beds. There was lots of culture to admire around the dining room while we ate. More than just a B&B, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone.

The cottage was warm, cosy, and really clean, with everything we needed. It's a lovely characterful place, well placed for a few days enjoying the countryside, and a comfortable, well-equipped base. I'd definitely recommend it and would happily return when I'm in the area.

We wanted for nothing during our very relaxed stay in the cottages. The cottage was spotless and well equipped, in beautiful surroundings, and the hosts were friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend it.

We couldn't fault the service during our three-night stay at this lovely B&B. Our hosts were excellent and went out of their way to help. The room was great, and breakfast was both delicious and filling. I'd highly recommend it and would stay again.
