OYO Avenue House

Diana was really friendly and helpful, and the room was very comfortable, with a large double bed, a single bed and a useful little fridge. There was fruit, cereal, yoghurt, tea, coffee, chocolates and a welcome card. The ensuite was nicely arranged and had an electric shower, and there’s free parking outside. It’s an easy walk to nearby shops, with a bus stop close by. There’s also a guest sitting room. I’d happily stay again and would recommend it.

Breakfast came in a box with a couple of pieces of fruit, oats and cereal, plus bowls of yoghurt and milk in the fridge. Plant milk would be a useful option for anyone avoiding dairy. The little hotel is in a pleasant, quiet local neighbourhood, and our room was clean and spacious, with chocolates as a nice touch.

The room was comfortable, and you’re close to all the amenities. What stood out most was the team, who really went out of their way to help and make us feel at home. They were wonderfully hospitable. I’d highly recommend staying here if you’re travelling to Belfast.

I booked OYO Avenue House back in April for two nights from August 6. I thought I’d pay when I arrived, but OYO charged me the day before. I called to check, and they confirmed they had the money and that everything was ready. After travelling all the way from Glasgow to Belfast, I got there and was told my booking had been cancelled because they were fully booked. I was confused at the time, but now I feel the company is greedy, overbooking, taking guests’ money and then cancelling their stays. They left me and my 7-year-old daughter stranded in an unfamiliar city with nowhere else to go. Disgusting. I’m trying to get OYO shut down.
