Purdy Lodge

Four of us came over from North Ireland on 23 Feb 2024. My sister did an ultra marathon and I did the 10k. The place was quiet and clean, and the food was excellent, with a delicious pint of cider to wash it down. Our shower wasn't great, but they promptly gave us a key to room 1, which had a modern shower. The one thing to know is that a hire car is essential for getting around to see the beautiful sights, beaches and castles. The morning, evening and night staff were so attentive and welcoming, and nothing seemed too much trouble. Thanks so much for all the craic we had. Highly recommend from the Irish ones!

We stopped at the café for dinner while on the motorway and left very happy. The service was lovely, and the spacious, comfortable café had good tea and coffee and great toasties. The mac'n'cheese was the best I've had in a while. Highly recommended.

We had 41 people there for food and drinks at a pre-wedding get-together, and the staff did a fantastic job accommodating us all. Every meal was spot on. The fish and chips were really tasty, and the portion was massive. I can't thank the staff enough for the great service. Some of our group stayed on site and said the rooms were great too, and that breakfast the next morning was excellent.

We stopped here on the bus on our way home. The place was clean, the food was nice and reasonably priced, and service was fast and efficient with a smile. The toilets were spotless, so the staff are clearly doing a great job. The car park for cars looked fine, but the outside parking for larger vehicles needs work. It's rough, uneven dirt and gravel.
