We stayed at the Fountain Cottage Cafe for the last two nights of February 2026 and would happily return. The owners warned us before arrival about a boiler problem affecting the heating, but not the hot water. They left an electric heater in the room in case we needed it. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our room, which had a spa bath with TV. They also gave us a generous complimentary voucher for the attached cafe, with great breakfast choices, traybakes, quality packed lunches, and various hot meals. It’s in Bellingham, within easy walking distance of local amenities.

A great stop for cyclists, with a discount for cyclists and a locked bike store outside. The menu is huge, and the tuna and melt panini was delicious. Portions are generous and the staff were so friendly.

We spent New Year's Eve here, and breakfast on New Year's Day 2026 was superb. The staff were lovely and made us feel welcome. This was our second visit, and we’ll definitely return. The place was voted best cafe in Northumberland.

We tried the fish special when we arrived, then a lovely Irish lady showed us to our room when we checked in. Sorry, I didn’t get your name. She mentioned we could ask for extra milk and other bits. The room was spotless, with lots of storage and a good-sized fridge. Breakfast was very good quality. We’ll be back.

Room 1 was tidy, modern, and very clean, with a huge shower and jet bath. Danielle went out of her way to help me find a USB charger and arrange an early breakfast. The breakfast was top quality. Thank you.
