Annemarie was so attentive and lovely, and nothing was too much trouble. I wish every restaurant and hotel I visit had someone like her. We had a two-course lunch in the restaurant, then paid for a pudding later in the day. The treatments were lovely too: I had a back, neck and shoulders treatment and a hand treatment, and they were fabulous. There were four of us on a spa day at doubletree hilton in strathclyde, using vouchers for two treatments and access to the spa, pool, jacuzzi, and steam rooms. The pool and spa were a lovely temperature, and the pool was a good size for a proper swim. It wasn’t really posh, but it had what I want in a pool. The treatment area felt like a bit of luxury, with bowls of fruit and a fresh cold water fountain. Thank you for making our day special. I’ll definitely come back soon.

We really enjoyed our stay over the Valentine’s weekend and thought it was great value for the couple of nights we paid for. The £30 three-course Valentine’s special dinner was well worth it, and the bar and waiting staff went out of their way to serve us in the non-restaurant area so we could watch the rugby while eating. The rooms were clean and comfortable, housekeeping brought firmer pillows when we asked, and the Wi-Fi was excellent in the room and around the hotel. The only real letdown was the standard Freeview TV: we couldn’t get screen casting to work without buffering. Breakfast was adequate, solid but not amazing. The leisure complex felt a little tired and could use a spruce-up, though it was perfectly serviceable.

The food was better than I expected, and the restaurant team looked after us well. At breakfast there was a great choice, and Bernadette made sure we were happy and well fed. The hotel is handy for travelling to and from larger locations. Rooms are large and comfy, although they’re starting to look dated. The gym and spa are excellent. Great service and staff throughout, and I’ll definitely use it again. Thanks for looking after us.

Lauren was our server, and she was fun, friendly, and helpful. We had a drink at the bar, then a yummy dinner at the hotel restaurant. The fish and chips and chicken piri piri came hot and delicious. It’s a lovely hotel, with a warm cookie welcome and really friendly people. We’ll go back for dinner again tonight.

The hotel is beautiful, but it’s the people who would bring me back. Every member of the team did a fantastic job and made me feel welcome during my stay. Kate especially deserves a mention: she treats each guest with real warmth and care, and goes above and beyond. They’re very fortunate to have her.
