Even though the Red Lion was full, the staff made us feel welcome and were friendly and helpful. We were five in the family, including a vegan and a vegetarian, and they explained the options and made sure nothing was too much trouble. We had an amazing Sunday roast. We’ve eaten here before and will definitely be back again. I’d recommend it.

Peter and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. We had our wedding reception at The Red Lion & Cellar Room on 21st February 2026, and the venue, service, food and rooms our guests stayed in were absolutely perfect. All our guests had a wonderful time. Huge thanks to Mark and his team. We’ll definitely visit again!

We decided on lunch on the spur of the moment yesterday and were glad we did. The food was lovely and beautifully presented, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. We’ll definitely go back.

Our friends had been eager to return ever since our summer wedding, where they fell for The Red Lion and Cellar Room. So for Valentine’s night we booked Wine, Dine and Sleep, and everyone was looking forward to it. They arrived before us, and Marc remembered them straight away. They told us he’s an amazing landlord, the kind you hardly find anymore. It was another five-star visit. We had a fun afternoon and evening, plenty of laughs, delicious food and terrific drinks. My husband was especially pleased to find Murphy’s, which you rarely see in English pubs. Marc and his A Team were as welcoming as ever. When Will started his shift, he greeted us with his usual friendly, professional manner and big smile, and asked how we’d been since he last saw us. We’ve decided to make regular Wine, Dine and Sleep visits. It’s a lovely way to relax and catch up with friends in this beautiful Olde English Pub, with its great atmosphere, delicious food, drinks and staff who go above and beyond. Marc has created a wonderful place. We’d first found the pub next to Reigate Pilgrims Cricket Club and were welcomed with open arms. Mark, Julia and the staff were all friendly and professional, and the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. The roast dinners were excellent: I had beef and my fiancé had The Ultimate Trio. The portions were generous, the meat and vegetables were great, and the red cabbage and onion gravy were especially delicious. We both thought it was the tastiest roast we’d had in a pub or restaurant. I couldn’t finish mine, but my fiancé managed his and still had room for a huge honeycomb cheesecake with orange chocolate ice cream, which he said was delicious. We’ll be back.

Elaine gave us warm, attentive service, and Marcin’s skill and passion came through in the food. It was very well priced for the quality, too. I had a wonderful meal at The Red Lion and Cellar Room in Betchworth. The handmade steak, ale and mushroom pie was the best I’ve ever had, rich and tender with loads of flavour. The mash and vegetables were cooked just right, and everything looked lovely. I’ll definitely be back.
