The Courthouse

We had a peaceful, relaxing stay here after a day out exploring, even though the B&B is handy for Betws-y-coed’s attractions and just off the busy main road. The river-view room was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely view, and we appreciated the good-sized bathroom. There’s also a riverside garden and plenty of parking. Richard gave us a warm welcome and explained what we needed to know. He looked after us well, and it was clear a lot of effort went into making the stay enjoyable. Breakfast was served in the conservatory; we both really enjoyed the cooked breakfast, and the coffee was excellent.

We stayed here at the end of our break and had a lovely time in Betws-y-coed. Richard was welcoming and couldn’t have been more helpful. The huge bed was very comfortable, so we slept well, and breakfast was amazing. I’d highly recommend it. Whether you want somewhere relaxing or a base for walking, it’d be hard to find a better place.

Richard was a delight and very helpful, and we’d happily stay here again. We spent three wonderful nights in this gem. Breakfasts were delicious, with plenty of flavour, and the rooms were comfortable and well appointed. The train station is really close, about a 4-5 minute walk. Between the house and car park there’s a lovely garden, with chairs where you can sit and enjoy the garden or look out at the Conwy River beside it.

Breakfast was a lovely start to the day, served in the conservatory overlooking the back garden and the views beyond. There was loads to choose from: fresh fruit, juice, jams, seeds and nuts, cereal, then freshly made tea or coffee, toast and your chosen breakfast. The wait wasn’t long, and the little paper tick sheet made ordering easy. Our room was amazing, with a high-quality mattress and pillow protectors, lovely towels and gowns, feather pillows, and old furniture that had been beautifully restored. I liked all the thoughtful extras: a coffee machine, a large kettle, cotton wool and earbuds in the bathroom, face cloths, a heated radiator for wet hiking clothes, and a tray outside the room for muddy boots. There was also a leather folder packed with local information, activities, restaurant tips and walking routes. The hosts were friendly without being intrusive, which suited us. We loved staying in this beautiful house and will definitely return to the village. The property is for sale, though, so I don’t know how much of this review will apply in future, since so much of the experience and service came from the current host.
