The location is lovely, and this could be a great hotel for a rural retreat. But after seven hours under what felt like a reptile heat lamp, the fire alarm light, I was still hungry and hoped breakfast might redeem things. I'm a high-calorie human, so when she politely asked how many eggs I wanted, I said five. I wasn't asking for more than I could eat. She said no, and the bargaining began. This seasoned negotiator got me down to two, and I reluctantly agreed with my tail between my legs. I should've realised the con woman was playing 3D chess. A little later she came back with the final move: there had never been any eggs at all. Now I'm off to work basically eggless.

The staff were extremely helpful, the food was great and the facilities were great too. The conference and meeting space had everything we needed. Couldn't have asked for more. Thanks for everything.

The fields and location are lovely, but the room felt much like a hostel. Stay at your own peril!

I stayed in the Pembroke rooms for a work event in January, so didn't get to explore much. The grounds and surrounding area are beautiful, and the food was really good. It's a small team, so service can be slow, which is understandable, and the staff were really nice and helpful. My room reminded me of my student dorm days. The heating wasn't working properly, the carpet was very worn, and the room seems due for renovation. I'd like to come again with my family, this time in one of the premium rooms or the cottage.

We chose to have breakfast on two mornings. It was very good, though a little fruit would have been nice. Having drinks on the main house terrace was lovely, and the grounds are exquisite. There are good places to eat nearby, too. We checked in at 3 pm on the hottest day of the year so far and got a very friendly welcome. Our Superior room in Orchard cottage was perfect for us. The ground floor location, French windows and terrace suited our needs, and the room was cool and spotlessly clean. It was good value, and we'd come again.
