Weston Manor Hotel

Our wedding at Weston Manor was amazing, and the setting was beautiful. Emma, the events manager, was helpful, flexible and understanding from our first meeting right through to the morning after. All the colleagues were professional, supportive and a delight. Everyone involved helped make our special day even better, and we can’t thank them or the venue enough.

The staff were very helpful, the location was nice and stylish, and the drinks were excellent. The thick pillows made it hard for me to get comfortable, though, and the cooked breakfast was only OK.

The restaurant was a real highlight for me. It’s pricey, but the food was very tasty and beautifully presented, with quality like a high-street restaurant. The staff are lovely and the service is great; breakfast was decent, though I think the food could be better to match that service. Weston Manor Hotel is a wonderful experience if you like spacious, historic buildings. Standard rooms are fine, each with their own pros and cons, but the higher-class rooms are much bigger and nicer. I’d recommend booking at least a Deluxe option to get the full experience. For what you get for the room price, it feels like a 6 out of 5!

The building itself is beautiful, but the service and stay didn’t match the setting. We left disappointed after what should have been a special anniversary. For over £300 a night, we expected much better. On arrival no one was at reception, so we waited to check in. Our room was three floors up, and although I have a back issue, no one offered to help with our luggage. At first the room looked nice, but it smelled strongly of cannabis and wasn’t clean to the standard we expected for the price. The bath, one of the main reasons we booked, wasn’t working properly. The most unsettling part was being woken at around 3am by someone banging on our door and trying to get in. We felt unsafe. Afterwards, the hotel denied our concerns entirely instead of acknowledging them. We have no reason to make these things up, and despite using Booking.com regularly for years, we’ve never left a review like this. What should have been a memorable anniversary stay was anything but.
