We’ve now spent Christmas 24 and Christmas 25 at Downe cottages, and both stays were amazing. Jeremy and Lynda make you feel so welcome, and nothing seems too much trouble. On arrival, Jeremy talked us through everything and shared useful local tips. There’s also a binder in the cottage with more details. We stayed in Clematis both times. It’s a lovely cottage with everything you need, from plates, mugs and pans to plenty of logs for a cozy evening by the wood burner. The gym and sauna are a great addition, kept to a very high standard, and were lovely for relaxing after walks and exploring the fantastic local area right on the doorstep. Thanks again, Jeremy and Lynda, for a fantastic break.

We slept so well in the high-quality beds, and the linens were clean. The cottages have lovely details and a beautiful British-style interior, with a charming, rustic feel that makes you want to sit with a book and a cup of tea. The views are lovely, and the breathtaking nearby coast is an easy walk away. We went down several times. We had the best time here with family and friends. The host at Downe Cottages was a wonderful person, made us feel at home, and gave us such a warm welcome. Thank you, we’ll come again!

The cottages are comfortable, immaculately clean, and well equipped, in a great spot on the Hartland Peninsula. The rooms have good-quality essentials, so it feels like a home from home. Jeremy and Lynda were superb hosts, friendly and helpful, and made themselves available whenever we needed them. We felt very welcome.

We found the whole place relaxing, and enjoyed the jacuzzi and gym. We’d just spent a wonderful week in Hydrangea cottage, which was very well equipped. Lynda and Jeremy were extremely welcoming and shared plenty of information about the area, including in a well-prepared folder. It’s a beautiful place to explore, especially Hartland Quay. A hidden haven, and we’d definitely recommend visiting. Thank you both!

We had some lovely walks right from the door, and Hartland is a charming town just a short distance away. It was a beautiful place to relax and unwind. The cottage was spotless, comfortable, and well equipped with everything we needed. We stayed at Downe Cottages from the 4th to 11th of August 2025. Jeremy and Lynda were warm, welcoming, and always helpful. Alison and I thoroughly enjoyed our week and would love to return. Highly recommended.
