The staff were excellent and went out of their way to help, making us feel welcome and special. The place is in a great location, and I’d definitely go back. The food was really good and the cocktails were very good too. I only held back from giving five stars because the prices were high. £22 for fish and chips, any fish, feels steep, and everything else seemed expensive as well. A small drop in prices would make it five stars for me.

We went back again today and had lightly curried hake and a cheeseburger. Both were amazing, just like our first visit, when we had fantastic fish and chips and flat iron steak. The portions were good, and the staff were attentive. It’s a lovely, dog-friendly spot, and the dessert was so good I only remembered to take a photo of that!

The staff were friendly, chatty and involved, and we genuinely felt cared for while dining. They made a lovely fuss of my parents for their 60th anniversary. The market fish was amazing, and the dessert was too good to miss. There was a good choice of wines by the glass, and the location and view were beautiful.

The rooms were pristine, beautifully designed and decorated. I’m extremely picky about cleanliness and couldn’t find a single issue, which is rare for me. The staff were excellent, really lovely and welcoming, and breakfast was great too. A really great stay, and I’d highly recommend it.

The pork belly and beef were excellent, and everything came out hot, which doesn’t always happen. We had a great Sunday lunch as a group of four, with a lovely selection of vegetables and really friendly service. Asking for more of the superb gravy was no trouble. Recommended.
