The Wayfarer Inn

We’ll be back next Autumn. We’d booked Sunday lunch after a staff member recommended it, and it was easily the best restaurant Sunday lunch we’ve had. We then booked two more evenings for dinner, and the food was faultless each time: delicious, beautifully presented and plentiful. I only wish we’d eaten there when we first arrived in Instow. The staff were very professional, and we highly recommend the Wayfarers in instow.

The staff were great and really friendly, and we’ll definitely be back. We came as a table of four for the supper club this evening and were blown away by the food. It was absolutely incredible and such great value.

(Edit after reading the reply below: the owner is still telling more lies. There’s a total lack of integrity.) We’ve just had a horrible experience with this place. We’d booked accommodation and arrived earlier than expected, so we went by to ask if early check-in might be possible. The whole building was shut, looking as though it might be closed for the season. Even the people next door weren’t sure the Wayfarer was open. I made three unanswered phone calls in an hour. There may have been a misunderstanding or miscommunication, and I can accept that. What I can’t accept is how things went after I asked about a refund. I got a rather accusatory, impolite phone call, and then the woman hung up on me. She later messaged accusing me of being unreasonable and of hanging up. There was no effort to sort it out or provide any customer service. I was shocked by the aggression. They said we could still come and stay, but after this, who would want to? They probably won’t refund us, and so be it, but I expected basic decency and professionalism. I can’t see how they stay in business. The restaurant seems to get good reviews, but I wouldn’t trust the accommodation option.

We were welcomed with water and treats for our two dogs, and the hospitality and service were great. Lunch was lovely, with a great pint of real beer, Doombar. I fully recommend this place and will return next time we’re around, as will Doreen from Staffordshire.
