The Old Smithy Bed & Breakfast

We found it very good value, with a characterful old property in a peaceful spot. The hosts were welcoming, and our room felt more like a suite, with a bedroom, bathroom and separate sitting area. Breakfast was lovely, though I’d have preferred to choose it that morning instead of the night before.

We had a lovely breakfast, from fruit salad with Greek yoghurt to a full English, with a good pot of tea and coffee, orange juice and tiger bread toast with proper butter. Debbie was a perfect host, and there’s plenty of off-road parking. The bedroom was very clean, and the bathroom spacious, with sea views towards Woolacombe. Clovelly’s heritage village is just a 10-minute walk away, and we recommend it.

The old building has loads of character, and the location is stunning. Our room was nicely decorated, with a very comfy bed and spacious bathroom. Debbie was fantastic, friendly and accommodating, especially with my vegan diet. She also suggested places to eat and a scenic route from the B and B to Clovelly. The only downside was the slightly slow Wi-Fi, though it still worked. This is the best B and B I’ve stayed in, and I’d definitely return when we’re in the area. Thank you!

We were visiting from Canada for a trip down memory lane and spent two nights here. It’s a real gem, ideally located, with a beautiful, spacious and very comfortable room. The breakfast was delicious, and our host was warm and welcoming. Thank you, Debbie, for making the stay so enjoyable. I’d definitely recommend it.
