I had a nice stay and would try the food next time, as it looked good. The bar area was very nice and inviting, with real ale on offer, though I didn’t eat. The room was clean, but the wall by the window needed some attention. It overlooked the main road, yet wasn’t noisy with the windows open. That could be different in summer. The owner always seemed rushed off her feet, but it was a nice enough hotel.

We were a group of four in for Saturday lunch. The menu changes and isn’t online, with choices ranging from burgers and lamb shank to pasta and curry. I chose curry with chips on the side. The chips were hot, crisp and really good, and the curry had a nice mild spice, with more chicken than you get at the local Curry House these days. My partner’s burger looked great too. The portions were generous, and the food was lovely. Proper good pub grub. One woman was serving, and she was working very hard, attentive to customers and smiling throughout. The decor could use a little TLC, but the food and staff are top notch. If you want a proper pub with decent grub, this is a good stop. Don’t pass it by.

The night was unforgettable. I danced like never before and had such a great time! Our landlady was kind, welcoming and helpful throughout, which made the stay even better. The hotel felt peaceful and well cared for, and our room was spotless, comfortable and exactly as described. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return. I highly recommend it. Thank you very much ❤️

The roast was a hit with all of us, including the kids, who cleared their plates. There was a meat option and a vegetarian one, and both were really delicious. We stopped on our way south and were glad to find such a welcoming, cozy place. We’d come back one day.
