West Titchberry Farm Guest House

The tap water isn’t recommended for drinking, though it’s fine for washing and other uses, so bring enough drinking water. We found this small B&B in a quiet, rural spot, with clean, comfortable rooms and good value for money. It’s set in an old farmhouse with only a few rooms, which makes it a pleasant place to talk with the hostess. She greets you with tea, is very knowledgeable about the area and can suggest places to see and things to do. Breakfast leaves nothing to be desired, and she also makes sure guests’ children are well looked after, as she’s a grandmother to several grandchildren. She’s the very picture of kindness. I’d highly recommend it for a charming, relaxing countryside stay.

It’s a peaceful old farm, just a few minutes’ walk from the Coastal Path and Hartland Point, and a great spot for coastal walks. Our hostess did everything she could to make us comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, and we appreciated not having to self cater on our vacation. Good pubs, Hartland Abbey and Hartland Quay are also only a few minutes away. Highly recommended!

We’ve stayed with Mrs Heard several times before taking the helicopter to Lundy Island for our holidays, and we’ll definitely be back. The farmhouse is gorgeous, the rooms wonderfully comfortable, and the breakfasts are to die for. I absolutely love this place.

We had a great weekend at this lovely old farmstead. The room was comfortable and the hostess was great. Breakfast was substantial, and they left us a microwave to heat up supper from Morrisons. It’s a nice drive to the Clifftop walk.
