We booked the Rowton Suite a couple of weeks ago and had dinner there too. The room was gorgeous, with huge floor-to-ceiling curtains, wooden wall panels and a lovely Jacobean fireplace. There was even a freestanding bath with taps in the middle, big enough for two. The fittings and furniture have some age to them, which adds charm, but everything was really well kept. At dinner, the vegan menu Ralph had prepared for us after I mentioned our dietary needs made us feel especially looked after. Please give him a bonus! We also loved arriving to cosy lounge rooms with comfortable seats and plenty of space between guests, so it felt private while we had coffee. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. Thanks to everyone who makes this place so wonderful.

Our guests couldn't stop talking about the castle, and the evening pizzas were a huge hit too, top quality! We got married at Rowton and felt like the most important people in the world that day. From our first visit through to the wedding, everything was brilliantly organised and ran smoothly. The staff made the place even more welcoming, took great care of our guests and went above and beyond to make sure the day worked for us. No question was too much. We can't wait to return for dinner and stays in the years ahead. Thank you so much for making our dreams come true.

We came in January and stayed in the Rowton Suite. The room was amazing, complete with a Christmas tree, and the place itself was beautiful. The food, though, was nowhere near what the website photos suggested. We'd booked a luxury weekend expecting the advertised "exquisite dining experience," but the menu was very average and hard to choose from, with presentation and quality below even gastropub level. I spoke with the manager on duty the next morning. She promised a lot, but I never heard anything afterwards. It felt like weddings might get more attention. Such a shame, given how beautiful the place was.

The team at Rowton Castle really makes the place special. They're friendly, calm and so well organised that couples can relax and enjoy the day. From behind the camera, I've found the celebrations flow easily because of their experience and attention to detail, leaving room for natural moments without making things feel staged or rushed. The castle itself, in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, is a dream to photograph. I get excited as soon as I arrive. Its stone exterior, lovely interiors and sweeping grounds all look wonderful, with a timeless grandeur and a genuinely welcoming feel. There are elegant spaces for both intimate ceremonies and larger celebrations, and they suit different styles and guest numbers. The food is always a talking point too. It's thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented and full of flavour, and the service is slick and attentive. Guests are always impressed. With the history, scenery and relaxed luxury, Rowton Castle is hard to beat for a wedding in Shropshire, and I always love coming back. Dawn & Carl x

We got married here in October, and the staff are what really make this the place to choose. They help with everything, big or small, from the first venue tour before you've even made up your mind right through to leaving the morning after the wedding. Nothing seems too much trouble for them. The building is beautiful, the food gorgeous and the bedrooms stunning too. Thank you, everyone, you really are amazing.
