We were lucky with the weather and spent time in the garden, sitting on the benches and enjoying the views. The house is beautiful, well maintained and has everything you might need. It was a perfect place for my daughter’s hen weekend.

Wanlockhead is a beautiful village. We loved sitting out front with a cup of tea on a sunny morning, watching the sheep wander freely. Lisa was really helpful and quick to answer our questions, and we hope to come back soon. We stayed at Lotus Lodge for my sister’s hen weekend. It felt clean and welcoming, with cosy bedrooms and a very comfortable bed. The lounge could maybe do with a little refresh, but the house was extremely well equipped, with everything we could need. The outdoor area was great too, and we made good use of it in the warm weather.
We booked Lotus Lodge for a weekend hen do with 20 of us, and everyone had a great time. The countryside was really quiet, and with the good weather we made full use of the garden, tables, chairs and BBQ area. The kitchen was spacious and had everything for cooking. We also went to the local pub, where you can get food and drinks if you don’t fancy making your own. The owners were friendly, kept in touch and made us feel welcome. A perfect weekend, thank you very much. I’d highly recommend Lotus Lodge.
The hill behind Lotus Lodge gave me some of the best views. I climbed through the heather in about half an hour, and there are lovely sights even when you don't get that far. We also found plenty to do within a 15-30 minute drive, including Sanquhar, the indoor pool, Moffat and Drumlanrig Castle gardens, with beautiful scenery along the way. We had the house for a week to mark our golden wedding anniversary, with 15 relatives aged from five months to 73. Everyone had room to settle in, and the big dining table, U-shaped sofa and farmhouse-style kitchen worked well for us. The fenced garden was a real plus for our two dogs, especially with sheep roaming freely nearby. It was an attractive, comfortable place to come back to after days out.
We had 22 of us at Lotus Lodge for a family holiday. The kids had plenty of beds and there was enough room for the adults, too. It was clean, tidy and well looked after. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the lounge felt lovely and cosy with the log fire going.
