Downham Hall

Our guests kept commenting on the beautiful setting and how smoothly the day went. Downham Hall looked gorgeous, with every space feeling welcoming and well cared for, and the food and service were wonderful. From the moment we arrived that morning, the team made us feel looked after. They were friendly, attentive, and handled everything so well that we never had to worry. All the thoughtful, personal touches made our wedding feel magical. We’re so grateful to Downham Hall for helping make a day we’ll always remember. I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely venue and a great team.

The scrambled eggs were a bit underdone for my taste, and a mini fridge in the room would have been useful. Those were just a couple of small niggles, probably down to personal preference. We stayed for a wedding on 15th may and I was impressed with the stay overall. The drink servers that evening were especially brilliant. They chatted with guests and gave such good service. They’re a real asset to the establishment, and the owners should be proud to have them on the team.

The three course meal was gorgeous, and my family and friends were impressed by both the venue and the warm hospitality. The staff were excellent in every way, and they made my 70th Birthday meal at Downham hall perfect. Thank you all, you’re “Simply the Best” in my eyes. Keep up the good work. The views are spectacular and the grounds are beautiful. I’d highly recommend the venue, whether you’re considering a wedding, afternoon tea, or Sunday lunch.

There are so many lovely places to take photos around the grounds, even though the space might look small at first. Our photographer had a field day, and we didn’t even get around all of it. The grounds are kept beautifully through the year, so you get the best of the season. For our wedding at Downham Hall on 6th Sept, Natalie from TJ Designs, who works with DH, made the marquee look beautiful with what we’d provided and added her professional touch. We had 60 day guests and a few more in the evening. I could properly relax as the bride and enjoy myself because I knew the day was being taken care of. Debra and I had our first proper conversation to finalise things just a few days before my hen do, and wow, it took away my worries about the practical details. I felt in great hands. She stayed through the day until after the evening food, and the bridal party knew who to go to. She had the whole plan, so my husband and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. We could focus on enjoying ourselves and the little details that made the day ours. I couldn’t have asked for lovelier people to spend our wedding day with. Thank you so much!
