Villa Venezia

The food was nice enough, but the way we were pushed to leave really spoiled the visit. We had booked for 1 hour and 25 minutes, and the moment we put down our cutlery, staff were ushering us off because there was a queue. I felt watched the whole time. Three different staff members checked whether we were okay or needed anything, and two separately offered dessert after we'd already said no. It felt like far too much attention, not good service. When someone finally told us our time was up, they seemed uncomfortable and thought another staff member had already explained it. That mix-up made the whole thing humiliating for everyone. I'd never eaten at Villa Venezia before, but after starting work nearby for Wirral Council, I'd driven past and thought it looked lovely, so I suggested it to my friends. I'll never go back. In my 38 years, I've never been ushered out of a restaurant like that. It felt as if once you stopped spending, you had to leave. However busy or popular the restaurant is, there's no excuse for such poor customer service. Extremely disappointing.

I've been coming here since it opened, and the food and service are always brilliant. The guys are wonderful. Love it!

My grandad always swore by this place, and 20 years later it's still fantastic. We walked in on a busy Saturday night hoping for a last-minute meal, and they were extremely accommodating, finding room for us. The food came quickly and was really nice. Thank you very much.

The lasagne was great, and the food was absolutely amazing. Lovely surroundings and great service too. Highly recommend!
