The only downside was the noise from some guests coming and going. The soundproofing wasn't great, but I was happy with what I paid. I needed somewhere quick in Leicester for one night and was surprised by how clean and spacious the room was. I was welcomed at the door, given the keys, and shown around. The eating area was clean and well maintained, with a microwave and toaster. I used the microwave, which was kept in good condition for guests. The shared bathroom and toilet were clean and usable. I'd happily recommend it as a Leicester stopover.

The rope bridge painting is fantastic. Hong Kong Fuey! I thought I'd be relaxing in the Glenfield dales and frolicking along the embankment through this mild winter. Where is it now? I don't really care. Get some raisins! Got dates?

It was my first stay at the Glenfield Lodge guest house, and I had a really good time. The room was very clean, and the lady working there was friendly and showed us where everything was. The price was good too. It's an affordable place to stay, and I'd highly recommend it. I could definitely see myself coming back.

The person who checked me in and showed me the room was very kind and welcoming. But the walls are paper thin: I heard every word from the noisy musician next door all night, then a guy banging around on the ceiling from 6am. The room really needs better insulation, or at least a fan to help cover the noise.

The price is very good and the location is good too. The room had a kettle with tea and coffee, plus a fridge with a small freezer compartment. It was clean. The communal bathroom and toilet were generally clean but need updating. Staff were friendly and helpful, though they should be easier to reach in person and by phone, since reception isn't always manned. Parking is an issue at night: there are 14 rooms but only three spaces, though street parking is sometimes available.
