Amit, the Executive Chef, took our feedback well, even though I can be blunt. We suggested how some dishes could be served, and he added ideas of his own. He was accommodating throughout and showed us examples of his earlier work on his phone. He said the facilities and staff training limited what he could do, but he was willing to work with us to get what we wanted. My partner is hiring the Tanners Suite for a function in March, and the hotel invited us to a tasting for the fine dining we’re planning. We tried three starters, three mains, and three desserts. About half of it felt acceptable and right for a fine dining experience. For a four-star hotel, we weren’t very impressed by the presentation or taste. The food is good, though, and the Executive Chef’s willingness to accommodate us needy customers was encouraging.

The bar service was great, and the woman serving was especially friendly and attentive. I can’t remember her name, but it began with A. When we arrived and when we raised a concern, the service was good. We did need to change rooms, and that was handled promptly and cordially. It’s a handy place to stop around Leicester without staying right in the centre. The rooms are nice and clean, and most have tea and coffee facilities and toiletries. I’d stay here again if I needed to.

We stay at lots of Marriott properties as Ambassador members, and this was easily the best Marriott we’ve stayed at in the UK. The location is close to shopping and easy to reach without driving through town traffic. The staff were welcoming and on the ball, and even arranged a lovely birthday surprise for my husband. The executive lounge was far and away the best in the UK for us. Service felt on par with lounges in Asia, and the food was fresh and really tasty. Our room was comfortable and clean, the Wi-Fi worked well, and the gym was nice. Such a pleasant surprise.

The kitchen and breakfast were perfect, and I couldn’t fault the team. Sarah at the desk was especially polite, professional, and helpful when I arrived yesterday, 13/2/26, and checked out this afternoon. Sarah, if you read this today, 14/2/26, you were on shift and so helpful to me and mine. Thank you, and keep up the professionalism, you deserve a pay rise. The hotel is beautiful, and its staff make it even better. Lots of love, I’ll be back.

The best part of this hotel is the service and the staff. SHARIF looked after us at breakfast and dinner in Market kitchen, and was professional, incredibly friendly, and attentive throughout both meals. The room was clean and comfortable, and the food was good too.
