Winstanley House

The room was the part I loved most: bright, clean, spacious, and hard to leave. The whole venue was gorgeous and gave me Bridgerton vibes, with a lovely view. My husband surprised me with the weekend as a treat for being maid of honour at my sister’s wedding. Caitlyn welcomed us so warmly and her hospitality was spectacular. I’ll always remember how well she looked after us. We wished we could have stayed longer and will definitely come back.

Breakfast at The Black Iron Restaurant was delicious and faultless. The Christmas decorations were beautiful without being overdone, and we were welcomed warmly as soon as we arrived. Cherie took great care of us, attentive and helpful throughout. I also spoke with Lexi at reception to book brunch for my hen do, and she was just as friendly and lovely to deal with. Looking forward to coming back.

I bought Black Iron vouchers online as a gift, but wanted the official voucher rather than printing the email, since I couldn’t get there to collect the really nice one. I left a message asking for a callback, and at 10:38 on 6 February a man from reception called me back. I didn’t catch his name, but he was such a nice chap and sorted out having the official voucher sent to me without any fuss. Top notch customer service, thank you so much.

Shannon was a superstar with us, especially with my daughters, aged one and three. She went above and beyond to make our family feel welcome. We spent two nights here and had a fantastic time. The dinner, bed and breakfast package was excellent, the food was really good, and the girls enjoyed having their own kids’ menu. The rooms were lovely too. Just mention it when booking if stairs are difficult, as there’s no lift in the main building. I’d highly recommend the hotel.
