Barford Top Campsite

There’s lots of room here, and it’s such a peaceful, tranquil spot with superb hosts. The converted barns have toilets, showers, laundry and refrigeration, plus a shared place to eat and socialise. It’s a fairly new site, with some quirky camping additions still being built. We’ll be back.

Even in November, the shepherds hut was lovely and warm, and breakfast was cooked excellently. The views were beautiful too. Wendy was especially helpful when we arrived, letting us upgrade to the lovely hut 'Daisy' after we had trouble with our camper van the night before leaving. All in all, a great campsite.

The shower was excellent and had enough room for my partner to get around after recently breaking her leg. The owners are friendly and welcoming, and the campsite sits high on a hill with splendid views of the countryside. There are a couple of pubs within walking distance, and it’s well placed for various attractions, though we couldn’t walk there ourselves! I hear they do cooked breakfasts, but we didn’t try one. We’ll return when we can.

A peaceful, pretty place with quiet surroundings and facilities that were clean, fully working, and more than adequate. The hosts were warm and helpful, managing to be attentive without getting in the way. Whenever something came up on site, they dealt with it as soon as they knew about it. Loved our stay.
