Middleton Hall Hotel

Martin is such a nice guy and makes you feel welcome in his home. The rooms are tidy and clean, but the breakfast is easily the best I've had at any hotel. For the price, you really can't fault the place. Highly recommend!

I called to book a single room, then asked why they needed all my credit card details over the phone. The gentleman said he'd charge the full amount as a deposit on the morning I arrived. When I asked if taking the entire amount upfront was normal, he lost his temper. I asked him to calm down, but he kept saying it was "his business" and "I suggest you find somewhere else to stay," then hung up on me.

I was trying to find a room for a business client and stopped by this hotel, which is near my home, to ask about prices and availability. I parked in their lot and went looking for someone to speak with, but nobody was around. As I was getting back into my car to leave, someone came over and opened my car door. I told him he shouldn't touch my car or open the door, and he was very disrespectful. He said he was the owner of the property and hotel. When I explained why I was there, he refused to help and told me to leave his private property. This isn't a hotel or a professional way to do business. They don't make people feel welcome. I was glad to look elsewhere for a better place to stay. As a business owner, my client's valuable time comes first. Thank you, Mr. Owner, for the intrusion. Good luck with the hotel business.

I followed up on my enquiry after two days, only to be told they'd received it but couldn't accommodate me. When I asked whether anyone planned to let me know, they said they'd been too busy. The person on the phone was very rude.
