Moving in came with a nice touch: the goodie bags, plus cashback offers that are a real bonus for students. Maintenance is quick and efficient, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. I’ve had a really positive experience at iQ student accommodation. It’s comfortable and well managed, and I’d definitely recommend living here.

The staff are friendly and helpful, and the place is centrally located with good access. It’s very close to Aston University.

The rooms, kitchens, and facilities at iQ Penworks are good, and the location near Aston University and the city centre is its main advantage. Still, my stay was disappointing because of the management and service. The main reception staff member I dealt with was repeatedly rude and unhelpful. From my experience, and from similar feedback I heard from several international residents, treatment seemed uneven and possibly influenced by race or nationality. Some residents got friendly, supportive responses while others were dismissed or spoken to curtly. When I raised real concerns about noise and cleanliness in my flat, they weren’t handled professionally or passed to management as I’d asked. Management interactions were abrupt and dismissive too. Common areas, including lifts and corridors, were cleaned inconsistently, and there seemed to be too few security staff, especially evenings and weekends, which affected safety and control of disturbances. There are cheaper options nearby, so based on my experience I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

I feel comfortable and safe living at IQ, and my experience has been great. Dee has also been wonderful to me.
