Bank House B&B

The fresh lemon cake waiting in our room was a lovely touch, and Gerry made us feel at home straight away. Bank House is a gorgeous Georgian house right in the quiet little town of Bishops Castle. We spent three nights there, with long, unhurried breakfasts and plenty of tea and coffee, and were sorry to leave both the house and Bishop’s Castle.

We went as a big family group and would happily return. Bank House is a beautiful place, with bright, spacious rooms, really comfortable beds, and everything very clean. There was homemade lemon drizzle in the room, and breakfast was great. Gerry was a lovely host, around when needed without hovering. It’s exceptional value too.

The Caradoc room had loads of space, a huge bathroom with a freestanding bath and separate shower, and a super king bed with lovely quality linen. Gerry was friendly and helpful, and clearly cooks brilliantly. Breakfast was cooked fresh at the table using local produce. We also loved the whole homemade lemon drizzle cake in the room, plus the shortbread. We stayed three nights at Bank House Bed and Breakfast and had a great time.

Bishop’s Castle is a lovely little town, and this place is a real gem. I’ve stayed in two of the rooms and seen another. They’re all stunning, spacious and well equipped, with excellent bathrooms and incredibly comfortable beds. Gerry is a brilliant host who makes a mean cake.
