There was lots to see and do nearby without needing the car, including walks and good food. The lodge was cosy to return to, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay in a beautiful part of the country. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

The hot tub was warm whenever we used it, and the little outdoor table and chairs were handy for breakfast. The lodge itself was clean, lovely and had everything we needed. One of the owners greeted us with their dog, blue, who startled us a couple of times by sneaking up, but she's a big softie who loves meeting people and being stroked. The owners left us to enjoy ourselves. The pub is a five minute walk away, with tasty food and a great atmosphere; the local Spar is about a ten minute drive.

The hot tub under the stars was our favourite part of the romantic break, just magical. We also found little treats waiting when we arrived, such a thoughtful touch. The barn conversion at Deer lodge Langho was beautiful and set in an idyllic spot, better than we expected. The nearby pub was easy to walk to, with excellent food and service. We'll treasure the memories.

I stayed here a few years back and absolutely loved it. But I just checked the price to book again, and it's gone through the roof: £600 for a weekend? I spent £540 on five days in ibiza last year.
