Alumhurst Hotel

I heard from some local people who were unhoused that the Alumhurst Hotel Blackpool had a terrible reputation. They said they’d seen how bad the conditions were and would rather sleep outside than stay there. That says plenty. The place was damp and filthy when I saw it, and felt like a health and safety risk. They took my money and then refused to refund me. This hotel shouldn’t be operating.

There was nothing good about this place. It may be the worst accommodation I’ve had in Blackpool. Avoid it.

It was cheap, and the staff were friendly, but the place was rough and dirty. The bedding looked clean and white, though I didn’t want to check the mattress. There was what looked like blood, or something else, on the curtains. During the night my partner brushed his head against the wallpaper and woke up with a dirty mark on it.

The room was cold at first, but staff switched the heater on when they showed us in, and it was warm by the time we got back. It was clean and tidy, with towels and toiletries, and good value considering the bad reviews I’d read. We arrived at 9:30pm and the parking was already full. The fire alarm went off in the early hours, and we only found out the toilet wouldn’t flush just before checkout.
