Bel Reve Hotel

The location is the one good thing about this hotel. Everything else was a disaster, from the cleanliness and sanitation to the staff’s behavior. The room was awful: no handle on the window and a disgustingly filthy carpet. If you care about clean surroundings, respect, and decent service, avoid this place.

We were out all day and only needed somewhere to sleep, so the tiny room worked for our four people. I wanted affordable, cheap accommodation, and that’s what I got. It served our purpose well, and being squeezed in with three kids even made us come up with different ideas and things to do 😂. The location was excellent, staff friendly, and cleanliness average: the bedding and bathroom were clean, but there was cigarette ash in one drawer, so I used the other one. The dining area looked like it was being renovated, meaning no breakfast, but there were plenty of places nearby to eat, so it wasn’t a problem.

We booked a family room for me, my wife and our three kids. The front of the building looked really run down when we arrived. A young guy answered the bell, let us in, then walked off. We found him in a messy front room. He took our name, handed over a key and said we were in room 9. The room was filthy and so cramped you couldn’t swing a cat. There were two bunk beds, one with a double bed underneath. The shower room had mould, the toilet was blocked and the bedding was dirty. It was horrible, the worst place I’ve ever stayed, and I wouldn’t recommend it. No wonder they had rooms available.

The location was good, but the place was a nightmare if you weren't there to drink and wanted an early night. People were shouting and carrying on in the early hours, and some were sniffing and chanting. I was glad to get home after one night 😂 The room looked like something from The Shining. People were running around upstairs, and takeaway trays got left on the stairs. Cigarette smoke and weed kept drifting into the room for about ten minutes in the middle of the night. The curtains didn't close properly, so outside light made it hard to sleep, and the bed felt like a wooden floor with a blanket on it. The Wi-Fi was the only decent part. I streamed from my phone because the TV was tiny, about 10 inches, mounted high in the corner. And anyone telling people to ignore the bad reviews must be a fake account 😂😂😂
