Brema Hotel

I was very disappointed with my stay a few weeks ago. The bathroom and shower had mould and rust, paint was coming off the walls, floorboards were broken, the windows had dropped, and the door squeaked badly. There was no refrigerator in the room, despite the description saying one was included. The Wi-Fi kept dropping even though it showed as connected, and it took around 5/10 minutes for the tap and shower water to get hot. There were no other rooms available, so I couldn’t move. To top it off, they’re refusing to refund the stay. Stay away.

We were in room 9, me, my sister and our parents. The guy wasn’t welcoming and ignored us throughout the stay. As soon as we went in, the room stank, and there was mould on the bed. Something in there made my leg itchy and red. The internet didn’t work, and they switched the electricity off without warning. I couldn’t sleep. The bathroom was dirty, and the walls were so thin we could hear everything outside. It was genuinely one of the worst places ever. I might even have got a disease from being there 🫩. Don’t come here, save your money, and stay away from this disgusting place.

We won’t be coming back, and we’ve learned to check reviews before booking anywhere. The hotel was close enough to the front for us, but we weren’t told there was no parking, so we had to pay to park elsewhere. In room 7, my mother-in-law found a curtain pinned or stapled over the part of the wall where plaster was coming off. It looked awful, and there were wooden posts across the window. There was damp above it and peeling wallpaper, as if something was being hidden. Our room, number 6, had a window that looked like it needed replacing. At first we thought it was condensation, but it didn’t improve as the room warmed up later in the day. The shower had very little pressure, and we couldn’t get the temperature right. The rooms were a bit dated too. The landlord didn’t seem to know who was staying there. Although we’d checked in the day before and he’d seen us plenty of times that day, he asked us outside with our keys if we were checking in and which rooms we had. We wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

It’s a very cheap place to stay, and the location is excellent, not far from the tower. The room was small, but the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of tea and coffee. The shower worked fine, though I couldn’t get any channels on the TV.
