Falklands Hotel

The breakfast was delicious, and they even asked what time we wanted it. The guys were chatty and so accommodating, and we had a proper giggle with them. Steve, the manager, was lovely, and Albert made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. He showed us to a double room even though we'd booked a twin, but he quickly arranged a twin for us. The room was really clean and the beds were very comfortable. My mum had a few too many the night before our second morning, so we skipped breakfast then, but that was nothing to do with the hotel. We had a great weekend in Blackpool, and this place made it even better. Steve and Albert are both great, and we'll be back soon. My mum and I will tell our family and friends about it. Steve and Albert, who are best mates, were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and lovely, with a comfortable bed, and breakfast came out hot and well cooked. We stayed for the weekend and I'd definitely go back. Highly recommend it.

The hosts were pleasant, but the room was very dirty, with marks on the towels and bed linen. The furniture looked like it came from the 1970s. Dust and fluff fell from the extractor fan onto my hair when I turned on the shower, and I was still scratching afterwards. One light fitting had only one bulb when it should have had three, and the fitting over the bed had none. There were just two sockets, both in use by the TV and kettle. The kettle sat under the TV, and the steam was affecting the screen. The cups were chipped and needed bleaching. They advertised a bar, but when we arrived we were told the host had lost his licence. It felt like an episode of Rising Damp brought to life.

We stayed for a couple of nights with my kids, my friend and her son. Nicky and Les were such lovely hosts and made us feel really welcome. The bedrooms were spotless and comfortable, and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. My friend and I also had a lovely meal at the bar. We'd definitely recommend their guest house.
