Golden Sands Hotel

We had a nice family reunion, and the owner was very nice. The rooms were clean and stylish, and the staff friendly. The one awkward thing was that the tables stayed set for meal times all day. It looked lovely, but made it hard to hang out and chat with family in the bar area. I felt I had to apologize when the kids drew or spent time there because we'd have to move the dishes. We couldn't really relax in that space, so we found another hotel around the corner where we could use their facilities and they were fine with it.

We really felt at home here, and I think we've made some good friends. The owner should be proud of this lovely place. The welcome was wonderful, the room was clean and tidy, and COVID-19 measures were in place. I had one of the best sleeps in a long time. Breakfast was outstanding, and they went the extra mile because it was my birthday.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms nice and clean. Breakfast let us down: you only get 3 items, then it's £1 per extra item. The toast was basically warm bread, and the sausage was undercooked. On arrival we were told there was a £50 cash deposit per room. That hadn't been mentioned when I booked and paid, and it wasn't on the website either.

Near the South Pier and all the attractions, but it was quiet at night. We thought it was the nicer side of town. Everything was spotless, the staff were friendly without being intrusive, and breakfast was delicious. We loved staying here and will return later in the year. Thank you from Clare and Graham.
