Hartshead Hotel

It’s a peaceful spot, and getting around is easy: the tram is only a few minutes away, or you can walk to the tower in about 20 minutes. The room was comfortable, and our lovely hosts let us check in even though we arrived a little early. They’d left snacks and water for us too, which was much appreciated.

The tram stop is within walking distance, though getting to the town centre on foot takes over half an hour. There’s private parking at the back and roadside parking out front. We stayed two nights in this well-kept property, where all the rooms, spread over several floors, have their own bathrooms. We were welcomed warmly and weren’t disturbed by the hosts or other guests. We had to ask for the heaters to be switched on, then noticed there were small heaters in the rooms that we could use. We booked through Air BNB, but I’m sure booking directly might get you a better price. I’d definitely recommend the place.

A beautiful beach is just a two-minute walk away, with a few lovely pubs nearby. The area was quiet, and I slept really well even with other guests there. You get your own key, so you can come and go as you like, and there’s a small amount of parking at the rear. Bus and tram stops are also about two minutes away, with services towards the tower and Pleasure Beach every 15 minutes. The host made us feel at home and was very welcoming. Our room was lovely and spotless, with an en suite and a powerful shower that stayed nice and hot. Breakfast is included, with cereals, juices and a full English, plus tea or coffee. Why stay at a Premier Inn or Travel Lodge when places like this are around? Amazing, five stars!

We had a clean, comfortable room and a really good hospitality tray. The place is quiet at night, although the promenade and trams into the centre are only three minutes away. Walking into the centre is pleasant too, around 35 minutes to the tower. A great find for our Blackpool stay.
