Marlow Lodge Hotel

Tim made us feel welcome from the moment we came through the gate until we left. He’s friendly, knows Blackpool well and is just a great bloke. We felt safe throughout our stay, and I’d definitely come back on another trip to sunny Blackpool. We came by train, so parking wasn’t an issue, and Blackpool South is about a five minute walk away. Our room, number 4, was very clean, though it could do with updating. There were a few damp black patches on the bathroom ceiling, and the furniture could perhaps be refreshed too. The bathroom was tiny, but they often are in B&Bs. Downstairs there’s a little bar with a pool table and reasonably priced drinks, and we felt welcome there. Breakfast had cereals, jams and spreads, toast, and a lovely made to order full English that kept us going all day. I also had scrambled eggs the next morning, which were yummy. The best part of our stay was how welcoming Tim and Martin were. They made us feel like family rather than guests, and we’ve already recommended the place to friends and family. We’ll be back. Breakfast was delicious, and the Basement Bar was a great addition. After busy days with the kids, it was lovely to sit down with a drink while they kept themselves entertained with pool, darts and karaoke.

The building is a little dated, but clean and tidy, and handy for everything Blackpool has to offer. The bed was comfortable and breakfast lovely. Tim was a perfect host, a really nice bloke.

We’ll definitely be back! Dean and Donna were warm, welcoming hosts, and the hotel struck a nice middle ground, not too posh or too shabby. The basement bar had a pool table, darts and karaoke, plus a sociable feel and reasonably priced drinks. It was even fine to wander down in socks or slippers. Dean cooked breakfast, and it was great value. Fab hotel.
