The gentleman at reception was pleasant when we arrived, but he was also the one who forgot the towels. There were no bath towels in our room, and despite asking three times, none turned up before we left the next day. We couldn’t shower until we got home, which was disappointing. The bathroom was very small, with barely room to move, and the sink drained extremely slowly. Our top-floor room got very hot. A fan was provided, but we had to switch it off to sleep. The stairs were uneven on the upper floors, and the carpets were a little worn. The car park was busy, so we had to keep moving cars around to leave before others the next day. Parking cost £10.00. The £25.00 charge for a small dog also seemed a bit expensive for one night. All in all, it wasn’t a brilliant experience.

A cheap and cheerful place right on the seafront, with easy access to everything Blackpool has to offer. All the staff were really friendly. Our room was compact but clean and nice. It’s dog friendly too, which is a bonus, though there’s an additional charge per dog as you’d expect.

The only good thing was an evening staff member whose name I can’t remember. He’s a part-time medic and was great. The parking was bare minimum, and on arrival we were told the room keys weren’t working. To get into our room during the stay, we would have to ask a staff member. Technology does fail, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt on that. Our room was on the third floor, and the building frankly smelled like an ash tray. The blinds were the cheapest possible option, and they were broken and useless. A receptionist came up after we reported them and said she could mention it to maintenance but couldn’t do anything herself. When we asked if that was the best she could do, she said it was up to maintenance. She rudely said that before we “interrupted” her, she could have upgraded our room free of charge, describing it as a £200 upgrade. We couldn’t wait to see this dream room, but it turned out to be dirty and full of insects. I’d avoid this place. Management and directors need to take ownership and responsibility, because it seems like they don’t care.

The room was dirty, with only one small window looking out at rubbish. There was no lift, and the hallways were very narrow with dangerous stairs. The toilet and shower were unbelievably tiny, barely enough space for a normal person. There was no handwash gel, and when I asked for some, they gave me bath gel instead. The wifi signal was very poor. This was the worst experience of my 10-day trip through England. I paid £83 plus £10 for parking. What a waste of money.

The rooms were only okay, just standard doubles, and the bathrooms were a tight squeeze. In our room, the light outside kept switching on and off, shining in under the door, so we stuffed a towel there, though it didn’t help much. We could hear outside noise with the window open or closed, including dogs let out in the yard with the rubbish, and music from below, around 11am and again at 1am. The pillows were like rocks, and the bed dipped in the middle, so lying there felt like sliding inward. The carpets outside the rooms were coming up, and without shoes you could stand on a nail. On arrival, the car park looked like it could fit around three cars, or six if people doubled up and blocked each other in. We hadn’t known that and wouldn’t have paid £10 to leave the car there. We asked about it and were told they’d call us if someone blocked in needed to get out. The check-in felt uncomfortable too. There was no proper reception and we felt lost. When we tried to check in, we were asked “for?” quite rudely instead of getting a simple question about the name. After we showed the key cards and reached to take them, they were pulled away, with a shake of the head, because we apparently weren’t checked in yet, though it had seemed that way. At 8:15am the next day, someone got trapped in their room and had to be rescued. A fan was a great asset because the room got warm, but the fans in both my room and my mum’s were caked in dust. We weren’t given big towels, and would have had to go back to reception, which we didn’t want to do after that first interaction. In my mum’s room across the building, neither the internet they gave us nor the TV worked, which isn’t great when you expect those and have kids. It’s honestly not somewhere I’d stay again.
