Paul made us feel at home as soon as we arrived over Easter weekend. The location is decent: about 30-40 minutes from the piers, but a minute's walk from the main promenade and sea, with a tram stop just off the main road. We got a bit lost because there was no sign outside and it looked like a regular house, so adding a sign might help people find the hotel. The rooms were nearly spotless, though the en-suite bathroom in room 2 smelled a bit and may need drain cleaner. The facilities were good, and the kitchen had almost everything for self-catering. A sieve or colander would've helped to drain pasta, though that's a fairly specific need. Breakfast was delicious on both days. The woman serving us, whose name I can't remember, was chatty, attentive and did all she could to make it enjoyable. The tables were a bit small for everything, but the dining area is small too, so there wasn't much room to change that. Another one or two high chairs could help if several families with small children are eating at the same time. It's very good value if you're on a budget, and this small business runs the hotel really well. The minor issues didn't make our stay less enjoyable, so I still think four stars is fair. They seem easy to sort out, and I hope this comes across as constructive feedback. We really enjoyed staying here and hope to come back soon.

Paul took great care of us, from the room to the breakfast condiments, and really went above and beyond to make our one-night stay enjoyable. His attention to detail shows what a great host he is. Communication was excellent, the room and en-suite were spotless, and the free parking was a bonus. I'd read various reviews and knew there might be some issues, but I couldn't fault our host or hotel without picking at tiny things. We'll be back, and think we've found our go-to hotel for future trips. Thank you, Paul, from all of us.

The room was fantastic, and the breakfast did the trick after a night out. Paul was brilliant with us, and communication was great before and throughout the stay, as well as afterwards. We paid a good price, the hotel was lovely, and the area was nice too. Such a fabulous weekend. We’d happily come back soon.

The room was quiet, spotless, and everything worked. It’s right by the tram stop, too. I was here with two friends for Pride, and Paul made us feel right at home. He was lovely, explained all the rules and how things worked, and even asked how I wanted my eggs at breakfast. We’ll definitely stay again. Thank you, Paul, and keep rocking that awesome shirt 😊
