They even texted to wish us a safe journey home when we left, and my niece was given a little bag of gifts. We felt very welcome. There was a gift bag on the bed, and the room had toothbrushes and toothpaste, so we didn’t need to pack our own. The bedroom and ensuite were very modern. Each morning we were given a menu to choose breakfast for the next day, with plenty of options.

The location suited us well, close to the railway station, seafront and Houndshill Mall. Breakfast was first class, with lots to choose from and plenty of little extras. Agnes and David are such lovely owners and couldn’t do enough for us. Everything was exceptionally well run and organised, and there was a generous supply of tea, coffee and hot chocolate alongside the welcome pack in the room. This is the best guest house I’ve stayed in, and we’ll definitely be back.

Every March, the girls and I stay here for the IFS event. The rooms are beautiful, sparkling clean and have absolutely everything in them. Agnes & Dave go out of their way to make your stay perfect, including finding anything you need that isn’t already in the room. They really know how to run a hotel. We couldn’t recommend it enough. Agnes greeted me when I arrived, gave me my room keys and explained a few things. She made it clear I could ask for anything I needed. The room was cosy, lovely and spotless, and the goody bag was a nice touch. There was also a downstairs hospitality tray with every hot drink I could want and more, all there to help yourself to. I’ve just come back from a three-night stay. It was my first time here, but I’ll definitely return.
