The Hayward

The whole place felt creepy and awful, from the moment we entered. The building looked like a low-budget horror movie, and the staff seemed not to care at all. Our first bedroom was flooded, and its door wouldn’t shut or lock. We asked to move and were told the hotel was full, though it looked totally empty. They eventually offered another room, but its lock was broken too, as if someone had broken in before. The sheets were dirty, there were no curtains to block the light, and we had just one towel between us. The bathroom was so disgusting we skipped showering. It was a disaster from the room to the service. I don’t understand how this hotel can still be open. It should close down.

Stayed here last night, 18th oct 2025, and I’d never come back. The hotel was absolutely filthy. The shower and sink were both dirty, the bed was vile, and the cups hadn’t been cleaned, so I couldn’t even use what I’d paid for. It was freezing, the whole place smelled horrible, and the TV is above the door, so expect a stiff neck watching it! 🤣 £45 is cheap, but you still expect somewhere clean to sleep. They need a new cleaner, if they even have one. Very unlikely though.

There was a drunk couple fighting and hurting each other, and my daughter and I were kept awake all night. No one else called the police. The room was filthy too: the bedding smelled awful, there were brown stains on the ceiling, and urine and skidz had been left in the toilet. Dirty underwear was down the side of the bed, the lamp was dirty and the TV didn’t work. Definitely never staying there again. IT’S AN ABSOLUTE DIVE.

No one was there to check us in, just a key left on the desk. For two people, there were two coffee cups, one dirty, six sachets of sugar, a carton of milk in a dirty jug and no coffee at all. The room looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. The shower was dirty, took forever to warm up and was blocked. There was mould on the windows, damp marks on the ceiling and wall, and the TV didn’t work. The mattress was rock hard. It certainly wouldn’t win Four in a bed. Would we stay again? I don’t think so, and I’d suggest you don’t either.
