Elgin

We had a wonderful weekend and can’t wait to go back. The food was excellent, with a good menu choice, and the staff were always happy to help. The rooms were beautifully decorated and had everything thought through. In the evenings, quizzes, bingo, and dancing kept us entertained. What a lovely weekend we all had.

We’ll definitely be back. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so friendly and helpful, always greeting us with a smile. It was lovely seeing them dressed smartly too. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The food was delicious and really good quality, credit to the chefs. Thanks Elgin.

The all-inclusive option felt like a complete waste of money. I was basically limited to one basic drink, while the other things I liked counted as premium and cost extra. When I asked about it, I was spoken to rudely and told it was “displayed.” I only found a tiny sheet in very small print on my last day. The entertainment was okay, but nothing special. The food was very mediocre. I’d laughed at reviews mentioning a kid-friendly menu, but there wasn’t really anything suitable for children, just the same limited choices on a small sheet. On Monday, a young server with an attitude problem spilled soup and nearly covered the person at the next table. She didn’t apologise or take the plate away, she just slammed it down. The chef’s special lasagne was a pile of mush, and there was no rhubarb in the apple and rhubarb pie. The room was just about okay, though the bath and shower felt like a health hazard. The place looked very old, and the waiting room felt more like an old people’s home than a hotel. I stayed in October, and it was one of the most disappointing stays I’ve ever had. My first visit to the Elgin will definitely be my last.

We’ve just come back from three fantastic days at the Elgin. The staff were really friendly, the food was fab, and the entertainment was great, so we didn’t need to go out. Everything was great and we couldn’t fault it. We’ll definitely be back, five stars from us ⭐️
