The Hollingdales Hotel

The room didn’t look like the advertised photos, and the toiletries shown in the listing weren’t there apart from toilet rolls. There was a noisy exposed pipe beside my bed. The bathroom floor was cracked and sharp, and the sink shook as if it might fall. In the morning, I could smell cigarettes, apparently from a nearby smoking area.

There was a mouldy, half-eaten brioche under the bed, and the floor was filthy with crumbs. The room was freezing because the windows didn’t close properly. Our TV had no remote, and there were no mugs for the kettle. One person in our group got stuck in her bathroom because the door was faulty, too. The woman working behind the bar served us while walking around barefoot, which was strange, and we heard her screaming at her son when we arrived. The whole place needs sorting out. It wasn’t fit for guests, and I’d avoid it.

Good location, comfortable room and lovely hosts. The hotel was nice, and I’d happily recommend it and come back. Thank you 😊

It was my first time staying here, and I really liked it. The place was clean, quiet and friendly, and smelled nice. Great value for the price. I’m booked in again next month and can see myself coming back regularly. I’d definitely recommend it ❤️
