The yurts were cosy in the serious rain, and a cup of tea by the log fire was just the thing. The beds were super comfy, the woods around us were peaceful and quiet, and Fran and Nick were welcoming, attentive hosts. We had all sorts of Welsh weather over the weekend: sunshine for sitting by the lake, paddle boarding and walking over the rolling green hills, then swimming in the sea when we went further afield. On starry nights, we sat by the fire with drinks until the early hours. Fran’s a brilliant therapist. The full body massage and Indian head massage were highlights, and the cake she made for a friend’s birthday was a lovely touch. Great value for money, and a unique find. I’d really recommend this special, quirky little place.

Fran & Nick are fantastic hosts and made sure our stay was perfect. The yurts are beautifully decorated, with really comfortable beds and all the amenities you need. The showers are great too. This hidden gem in a Welsh valley went beyond what I expected. The red kite feeding and devils bridge were favourites for us, and just a stone’s throw away.

It’s so peaceful here, with Mother Nature all around. The yurts are cosy and well maintained, and the lakes are beautiful places to sit and watch the nature around. It’s an eco friendly place, completely off grid, where it’s just you and Nature. There are lovely walks through nearby fields too. Fran and Nick are excellent hosts. I really miss the place and can’t wait to go back. Thank you, Fran and Nick, for sharing your little forest with us and making it feel magical.

The woodland is gorgeous, full of birdsong, and made for a great getaway. There are plenty of walks nearby, including routes to the beach and the ancient stone circle. The yurts are cosy and have everything you need, and the facilities are clean. The owner was so kind and accommodating. 100% recommend.

We stayed in mushroom yurt for two nights after finding this place while looking for somewhere near Aberystwyth. It’s about a 1-2minute walk from the car park and has pretty much everything you need. Inside there’s a comfortable king size bed, a chair, a fold away table and chairs, and a pull out bed. Fairy lights and one other light gave enough visibility without being too bright. The kitchen kit includes cooking utensils, a little camping stove, cool box, tea towels, eco friendly washing up liquid, crockery, cutlery, cups and glasses. There are separate tubs for recycling. The shower has eco friendly shampoo, conditioner and shower gel that smell gorgeous. It isn’t the most powerful, but it works well and has plenty of space, especially considering it runs off a gas bottle. Composting is a big thing here, and the compost toilet comes with instructions on what to do. That was an experience! The lakes are beautiful, and there are lovely little spots to explore, with benches and hammocks for taking in the surroundings. Diego, their big dog, roams around and comes to say hello. He’s very friendly, though his kisses are big and sloppy. We didn’t meet Nick, but Fran was lovely and welcoming, and their little boy was really lovely and polite. There’s no phone signal or WiFi, which was perfect for switching off and enjoying some peace. It’s not the kind of place we’d usually choose, but we’d most definitely go back. I’d highly recommend it.
