Premier Inn Newcastle - Metro Centre

I was working at the Metro Centre and stayed for several days. The location is handy for it, and the hotel is quiet. Rooms were clean, the restaurant food was nice, and the staff in both places were really friendly. The one hassle is getting anywhere on foot: you have to cross a dual carriageway and several roundabouts with no footpath. That’s an infrastructure issue, not the hotel’s fault.

The food was great, and the bar and hotel staff were lovely. When we needed to change our booking and add a night, they went above and beyond to keep us in the same room. Thanks to everyone for a wonderful stay. Mr and Mrs Bagworth ❤️

The evening meal was good, and the service was quick with friendly staff. Breakfast was ordered rather than buffet style, but it came promptly and was very good, with everything cooked well. The trouble was the cold: the restaurant area was freezing, even with cold air conditioning on, and we had to keep our coats on to eat. The hotel bar and restaurant is now only partly open, rather than being attached to Brewers Fayre as the website says. The bar area was cold too. Outside looks tired and could use a fresh coat of paint.

We paid a lot for a room that smelled strongly of mildew and damp, especially in the bathroom, so we barely spent any time in it. Being on the ground floor, we could also hear a lot of noise from the floor above. We were really disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this location.
