The Whyte Harte Hotel - Inn

The veggie burger was honestly one of the best I’ve had, and the staff were lovely. It’s a charming hotel with good food, and the rooms feel comfortable and much more modern than I expected in such a historic building. I did miss having a bedside lamp, and the bathroom motion sensor was a bit unreliable, but otherwise it was very good.

We had a lovely meal by the roaring fireplace. My partner chose the pork loin, which came with delicious homemade apple sauce, while I had a wonderful leg of lamb. Both came with generous helpings of roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and buttery cabbage. We finished with a large sticky toffee pudding, caramel ice cream and crushed nuts.

The staff were lovely and attentive during my last-minute stay. The room was exactly as described. Thank you.

It’s such a treat having this pub in the village. We had a superb Easter Sunday roast, with generous portions and plenty of gravy. The roast lamb and chicken were cooked perfectly, just like home cooking, with all the trimmings. Staff were friendly and efficient, and the chef clearly has the food down to perfection. I’d heard the food was great now, and that’s true. Prices are no higher than Sunday roasts elsewhere, and I couldn’t fault it.
