We only stopped in to eat while passing through, so I can't really judge it as a hotel or say how often I'd use the place. The welcome and service were good, and we really enjoyed the food. The 'Pie of the Moment' was especially well liked. Worth a try.

The service was great, with a decent choice of drinks too. It's a lovely traditional pub, cosy inside, and the menu keeps things straightforward, which I liked. There's plenty to choose from, and the food is cooked to order. Loved it.

I've driven past for decades without stopping, so I was surprised by how much I liked the place. The venue went well beyond what I expected, the food was great, and the staff were superb. I'll be back.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and finding the place was easy. There's a car park as well. I was staying here while working away from home, and the rooms are decent for the price. Breakfast is included and was very nice. I had poached eggs on sourdough bread.

We’ve been twice in the past month because the food has been consistently good. Sunday bookings run until 4pm. The staff are attentive at the right moments, clear things away quickly, and take away wine glasses you won't need. Food arrived promptly, hot on hot plates, with generous portions. The meat slices were a good size and the Yorkshire was enormous. The shredded cabbage and beans were tasty, and the carrot and swede mash was beautiful. We went for Sunday lunch on 01/06/2025. This is a real gem, so support your local pub. It's deceptively good.
