We chose the winter package with a two-course dinner, bed and breakfast for our joint birthday celebration, and it was a great deal for five of us. My daughter studies at university in Newcastle, so we met at Beamish for an overnight stay with my son, his partner and my daughter's partner. The rooms were spacious and spotless. They were so well soundproofed that I only noticed how effective it was when I opened the window. Check-in was friendly and professional, and dinner in the lively, warm restaurant was lovely. The food came in good time and we were all pleased with it, though we had to ask for biscuits with the cheese. The team were great, especially the young lad who worked so hard. It was a shame the bedroom got scorching hot even with the radiator apparently off, but there was a fan to use. Breakfast, cooked to order, tasted great, although it could have been hotter. Temperature might usually have knocked a star off for me, but the overall stay and value deserved five. Thanks for making our shared birthday trip so enjoyable!

The restaurant food was very good, and the location worked well as a base for exploring the North East Coast. There's a large car park, and the place is very dog friendly. Staff were helpful with check-in and explaining the options, even though there isn't a dedicated receptionist. My room was big and reasonably equipped, but its design was aimed at someone with physical needs, so it didn't suit me especially well. The TV was small and far from the bed, making it hard to see.

I had a memorable one-night stay, with tasty food and great service from a friendly team. Check-in and checkout were both easy, and my room was spacious and comfortable. I'd recommend it and would love to come back. The bar and dining space is large but still cosy, with cheerful staff and fairly priced food and drink. There's plenty of parking, and the bedroom was a good size. It's still quite new, but has a welcoming feel.

We've often come here with our puppy because the team are fantastic with him. We bring a blanket so he can sit on the seat, and the staff usually greet him and make a fuss of him, which he loves. Today, though, the manager brought my coffee over and abruptly said the dog needed to be on the floor. None of the other team had ever told us that. The way it was said was unfriendly and loud enough for the next table to comment. We won't be back, as we clearly weren't welcome. Such a shame, since it's a lovely place and the rest of the team have been outstanding.

A lovely pub, restaurant and hotel looking over the harbour. Service was quick, and the food, layout and facilities are good for families. We'll be back!
