The garden wildlife was a real highlight: we spotted a Red Squirrel, Woodpecker and partridge, and the cottage itself was wonderfully quiet. But there were several things that needed attention. The beds and bathroom were clean, though other areas weren't. Dust on the cobwebs suggested they had been there a while, the oven door was dirty, and utensils above the hob had been left unwashed. The hob was clean enough. When we opened the main door, there was an unpleasant smell of stale cooking oil. The chairs by the fire were uncomfortable, as other reviewers outside Google have mentioned. The path behind the cottage snagged my clothes on rose bushes that needed cutting back. Parking was awkward with our larger car. We had to leave it within 3inches of the wall to keep it off the narrow lane, where large farm vehicles pass almost every day. We rented Ffrwd cottage for a week and had been looking forward to it. I raised these issues with the owner on the second day. They thanked me and said they hoped it wouldn't spoil our stay, but didn't offer to send anyone to clean. This is just my personal view, and I've included photos so you can judge for yourselves.
