We ate in the restaurant every day, and it was a highlight: dinner had plenty of variety, so we tried something different each night, and breakfast offered both a full English and continental choices. Everything we had was delicious. The conservatory dining area was lovely too. It was our first visit, for three nights, and we had a roomy Superior Room that was spotless, including the bathroom. The staff were helpful and always smiling, and there were comfortable places to sit around the hotel, including outside. The hotel sits in the countryside just outside Macclesfield. We’d thoroughly recommend it and hope to come back 😊

The restaurant is worth a visit for dinner. The hotel itself, though, fell short of what its attractive entrance and lovely countryside setting led us to expect. Our room seemed fine at first, but it felt damp, almost like you could grow mushrooms in there, and had no real thermal insulation. We’d originally planned to stay for several weeks on a business trip, but had to change that during our stay. A disappointing contrast with the building’s appearance.

The view was really nice, and the hotel welcomes both pets and kids. Staff hospitality was lacking, though. The food was okay, but our Saturday dinner took more than two hours to arrive. Those are the little things a boutique hotel should take care of.

Lauren, our waitress, was especially lovely, and the food was delicious with good sized portions. We stayed one night in annex room 72. It was spacious and lovely, but had a damp smell. Good value for money, and I’d recommend it for a short stay.

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch, with delicious food, excellent service, and really good value. The deal for two lunches and a bottle of wine was especially good. The reception staff greeted us warmly and showed us to our table in the impressive dining room. The hotel is in a great spot, and it’s an impressive building with beautiful views.
