Doocot At Bonnyside House

The hosts made everything easy, with clear information, flexibility and great communication. The house was tidy and clean, and there was plenty of outdoor space. A group of friends and I spent the weekend here and couldn't have asked for better accommodation. I'd recommend it for a weekend away with a big group.

The cottage I stayed in was gorgeous and had everything I needed. Our booking also included cocktails and a huge BBQ, which were a lovely part of the weekend. We hired the whole Bonnyside House for my eldest daughter's hen weekend, and it was worth every penny. The setting was beautiful, and the main house had loads of room, a fantastic kitchen, two reception rooms and a karaoke room. I wish I could give it 10 stars. Thanks to the owners, and keep up the good work.

The place was spotless for our needs, stayed warm, and had lots of lovely rooms. The kitchen and dining room were well equipped, and Erin and Matt were brilliant hosts, responsive and easy to reach whenever we needed help. We had plenty to keep our group busy, from the gardens and outbuildings to the hot tubs, sauna and pool room with a bar, dance floor, pool table and darts. It's in beautiful surroundings with lots of hiking nearby, and there's plenty of space for a large group weekend. I understand it's under new management since the bad Google reviews, and there have been improvements. We had a great time and are already talking about booking again. Thanks for everything!

The owners and staff looking after the place were friendly and helpful. If you're after somewhere for a get-together where you don't need to fuss about shoes or a broken glass, this could suit you. It's advertised as a stag or hen party house, and for that kind of stay it may fit the bill, but I wouldn't expect much beyond that. The house could be really nice, but it needs some care. Most areas are worn, although the rooms are fine and the kitchen is decent, with appliances that all worked. Plumbing was unreliable: everything just about functioned, but showers and baths in some rooms could wake other guests. I didn't have an en suite, so can't speak to those, and the shared showers were poor. There were electrical issues too. My friends' room had dead sockets, though no breakers had tripped. The hot tub only just worked and looked past its best. The pool table was in reasonable shape for being outdoors, but every cue was missing its tip and there was no lighting, so it was pretty useless, especially at night. The tumble dryer spun but didn't actually dry anything.
