Premier Inn Liverpool North

The reception staff were friendly and helpful, but the room was disappointing. The bed felt very worn, and the carpet and furniture were badly stained. When we left in the morning, there was a huge splash of vomit outside the reception door. I assume it came from one of the stag groups staying there. It was a pity nobody had washed it away.

The rooms were clean and had the amenities I expected, but the heating wasn’t working properly in my room or another member of our party’s. One person ended up with an oil heater. What really shocked me was hearing the desk staff in the lobby. I was waiting for the rest of my group and overheard about four staff members talking together about one another’s sleeping habits, using language and details that were completely inappropriate for work. They also spoke harshly and disparagingly about another staff member.

Thankfully we were only there for one night. The room was filthy: dust had built up thickly on the headboard and side panels, the bedside switch was sticky, the carpet was very grubby, and the inside of the kettle was brown and dirty. The duvet was frayed and torn in several places. The bathroom plug was stuck and took effort to free, and paint was peeling from the ceiling. Very disappointing.

We come back whenever we visit family, and we’ve never had anything to fault. We call ahead to request a particular part of the hotel and they’ve managed to accommodate us so far. Everyone is friendly and easy to approach, and the bar staff are brilliant. We always feel welcome and have a laugh with them.
